While in Palo Alto, I had some extra time to kill. I decided to drive 30 minutes to check out Psy Spa.
I want to like this place, but I think Immersion Spa in Palo Alto is better bang for the buck. Admission fee is $40 for 2 or 3 hours (couldn't tell). Whereas, Immersion is $40 for the entire day.
Pro:
1. Friendly check-in
2. Nice parking lot
3. Steam Room temp was more to my liking instead of melt your face at Immersion. It was also nice and large.
4. The Sauna was really nice.
Cons:
1. It was confusing to navigate. The young adult at the front desk offered a tour, but I didn't think it would be difficult to find. I should have taken the tour.
2. The locker room had a man sitting in it that was fully clothed. He was watching videos on his phone. He was nice, but it was odd. He walked around in the locker room (didn't check in on anything) watching videos. I think he works there?
Maybe family?
3. The cups for water were mega tiny. Like miniature play cups for your kids. Bring your own bottled water.
4. The showers were like Immersion with a push button, but they were either melt your skin hot or freezing. It was hard to find a temperature that worked. I tried several of them too.
5. They have handmade signs everywhere that talk about prohibiting sexual activity. I mean they have them everywhere. As it was my first time there, it was a lil odd to see it so many times.
6. The hot tub was nice, but again handmade signs that told you to hold the button for 3 seconds or it would mess up. They had other boxes around it with handmade signs that said do not touch. The hot tub didn’t work several times and required a sacrifice and a prayer to turn on.
7. Only saw 4 guys. 1 was creepy, 2 didn't talk, 1 was normal.
Bottom line: I'll stick with Immersion Spa. They have nicer facilities and I don't have to worry about the time limit.
